Deadline approaching for District 19 Special Election Primary
If you reside in FL Congressional District 19 and want to vote in the Special Primary Election , you must be registered in either the Democratic Party or Republican Party to vote for the candidate of your choice in that specific party. Independents and non-affiliated cannot vote in the primary. We all know that. But it’s time for you to look at your voter registration card and make sure that you’re registered in the party of the candidate you want to vote for, and if you’ve recently moved, that you’ve updated your registration information!
Here are the voter-registration cut-off dates for both the Special Election Primary and the Special Election:
- District 19 Special Primary Election on 02/02/2010 – voter registration must be in by 01/04/2010
- District 19 Special Election on 04/13/2010 – voter registration must be in by 3/15/2010
Absentee Ballot Request forms here. Early voting begins on 1/25/10.
Go to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections website for more information. And if you’ve moved recently and don’t know if you’re in CD 19 check on the Precinct Finder.
Here comes Immigration Reform – HR 4321
As if there weren’t enough going on, HR 4321, Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act was submitted to the House on 12/15. Summary of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act 2009 is a very detailed description by The Immigration Policy Center, a group that supports it. I urge you to read the summary. It is easier to read than the actual bill, which is 645 pages long!
HR 4321 has been posted on Thomas. It is sponsored by 92 members and has been referred to several committees. Go to the bill directly here for bill status over time , text and any actions that are taken.
Video of Allen West on Hannity – if you missed it!
Allen did a great job on Hannity, 12/15. For once, the focus wasn’t on his past in the military, but about the video of him speaking at The Revolution a few months ago, and his values.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely GOP Primary voters finds Crist and Rubio each with 43% of the vote. Five percent (5%) prefer another candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided.”

Palm Beach County BCC approves Ethics Ordinances with vote 7/0
Update!!!!!!!!!! History was made this morning when the Board of County Commissioners voted for the IG, Ethics Commission and Ethics ordinances as amended. There were a few wrinkles when Commissioner Santamaria had an issue with the firing wording, Commissioner Aaronson had issues with treating non-profits/charities like everyone else and Commissioner Taylor had an issue with the IG’s ability to investigate – even without ’cause’. So what we thought was going to be a quick vote ended up taking about 2 hours!
