11:30am Meet & Greet 12:00 Program Begins

Southern Republican Leadership Conference –

DSC00395Bette Anne and I are honored to be here representing the Palm Beaches. We have seen several friends and made new ones. We wanted more access – than our small entrance fee provided -so we agreed to volunteer. We have had access to the “Green Room” as well as prime seating in the general sessions.

The energy and love of America is overwhelming here. If you’ve been to a rally or tea party event – you know what we’re talking about by energy.

Last night, we heard from Liz Cheney who spoke about National Security and Newt gave us some great nuggets as the “Party of YES”!

This morning will probably be one of my personal highlights for the program. While passing out Breakout schedules – I over heard four people talking and they were from the area in Mississippi where Bobby and I have a home. I had to interrupt and introduce myself. During our 30 minute conversation, on of the ladies asked me, ‘Is Allen West for real”? She was asking if he was genuine. BAS and I assured her he was all that and more. She was so glad to hear that. After reading a fundraising peice word for word – and watching some YouTube videos… she decided he was worth some of her money.

The country is awake. The tea party movement is all the rage and conversation here. We are being encouraged to continue to have peaceful protest and rallys. Andrew Breitbart followed Sarah Palin – who had to reiterate that she is NOT promoting violence. But Andrew continues to shake up the conversation and told us about his trip to Searchlight NV – and how all the HATE and VIOLENCE came from the LEFT. He urged us to keep the VIDEO cameras ON all the time… and remain peaceful.

This is a quick and unedited POST. BAS and I will gladly work on this later. We are off to the Sean Hanniety Book signing (we are working the event) and then to his live show. Our feet hurt, we arent eating meals – rather granola bars and goldfish but we’re having a good time. Look for us on TV tonight.

Saturday’s Energy level was HIGH.   The morning opened with Mike Pence, followed by a taped address by Gov. Pawlenty.  It was Rick Santorums opening and live Q&A that lived up the audience… and you could feel the consensus in the room with topics such as the “PARTY” picking candidates, Constitional Conventions and the future of the Party.  He was bold in his replies and direct.  Being a non-politician, I liked his directness.

Herman Cain was probably one of my favorite speakers.  He was FIRED UP… and can motivate a crowd.  I hope we’ll be hearing more from him as RCPB invited him to come to South Florida.  His story was exciting and I will work some links into the article.

Haley Barbour, Ron Paul and Michael Steele closed the convention – beleive it or not – with a common message – we have to unite.  We can not be divided as a party.  The Tea Party Movements need to continue.  The movement was praised by every speaker… and we are encouraged to keep the momentum.

The passion is the same, throughout the country.  Constitution, We The People, Grass Roots and a UNIFED Party.  Read more

9-12-2010 Will you join us in DC?

Sep 12, 2009 in DC

Sep 12, 2009 in DC

Last year, many RCPB memebers attended the 9-12 March on DC orgainized by FreedomWorks. Many of us are talking about attending again. If you have an interest in attending, let us know and we’ll work with other local groups to organize the trip -there are many options available.

Additionally – in light of tight economic times, there are activists who want to attend – and would like to have their trip sponsored. If you would like to attend, but possibly are physiclly unable to do so, please consider sending someone in your stead. RCPB will maintain confidentiality. Please pray and consider what you may be able to do. Please coordinate through RCPB Leadership – Melissa, Bette Anne, Joy, John and/or Anita.

American Revival: Faith, Hope & Charity

Many of our RCPB members attended Glenn Beck’s American Revival: Faith, Hope & Charity gathering today in Orlando, Florida. The gathering had three speakers – James Barton on Faith, David Buckner on Hope and Judge Napolitano on Charity. Glenn closed with a faith based Keynote… which started with the singing of Amazing Grace by a standing crowd.

Here are some of the notes I wrote:
Congress printed the FIRST American Bible and according to the comments in the Records of Congress, these Holy Scriptures are for use in our schools.
29 of the 55 Forefathers had seminary degrees.
John Adams wrote 33 volumns was was a faith based man – which was excluded in the HBO Documentary
Roger Sherman signed all 4 documents and started the American Bible Society. He stated there can be no civil law without Biblical Law.
Revisionism – moves us from following TRUE history.
He suggested we all read George Washington’s Farewell Address.
Suggested that history gets changed and must verify sources (footnotes) back to sources. An example is that George Washington was a honest man and faithful husband… to the contrary of teachings.
There are THREE classes of people: immoveable, moveable and those who MOVE.
In the last 16 years, we have LOST money, DOUBLED revenues and TRIPLED spending… while maintaining a AAA Credit Rating. There is a storm on the horizon.
In regards to healthcare, a lower price doesnr mean lower costs.
How do we increase patients with no new doctors. Making promises to people that we cant afford to keep.
We have to pay down the debt, cut spending and watch inflation.
With a single payer system, the market weakens.
Raising minimum wage is like building a fence… it’s counter productive. Suggested running an analysis on no minimum wage.
HOPE…
H – Home… how can you cut consumption at home?
O – Ownership … Take control of the process.
P – Prepare… There is a path out of darkness.
E – Engage… Educate yourself and get involved.

Ben Franklin lived the model of charity… and gave us inventions.
America is the most charitable country in the world. Charitys are rated by how much benefit goes to the cause. The Avg Charity is 60 – 70%. Govt programs have about 30% go to the people. If the govt gave the $$ to charity, we could DOUBLE the benefit to the poor.
I welcome the other attendees to add to this – we were charged with taking action. So I ask, will you join me today to save America?

Tea Party: The Documentary Film

TPM_logo300

JOIN RCPB for the Florida Premiere of  Tea Party:  The Documentary Film

“Tea Party: The Documentary Film” follows the struggles of five grass roots individuals and their transformation from home town rally goers and rally organizers to national activists in the 912 March on Washington. It traces the movement back to the establishment of a Twitter network in mid 2008 that brought together a group of concerned conservatives by social networking tools.

These groups inspired hundreds of off shoots around the country as news spread about TARP, increased nationalization of industries like housing and banking and additional stimulus bills were passed. In the process, the film reveals what is at the heart of this nationwide surge of civic engagement – a return to and respect for a Constitutionally-limited government, personal responsibility and fiscal restraint at the Federal level.

Who Are The Tea Party Activists?

the early adoptersDid you know that:

•A large number are politically involved for the first time. 47 percent of activists surveyed said that they were “uninvolved” or “rarely involved” in politics before their participation in Tea Party groups.
•When asked which issues were “very important” to them, 92 percent said “budget,” 85 percent said “economy,” and 80 percent said “defense.”
•No respondents listed social issues as an “important direction” for the movement.
•86 percent oppose the formation of a third-party.
•90 percent cited “to stand up for my beliefs” when characterizing their initial reason for involvement.
•62 percent identified as Republicans, 28 percent as Independents, 10 percent as “Tea Party”

——————————————————————————–

The Early Adopters includes a survey of Tea Party activists from around the country, and an analysis of Tea Party leaders’ business cards to examine their use of color, word-choice, and self-described role. Watch the video, read the findings, and see what you can learn about these activists.

Letter To Editor: Term Limits

Term Limits
Published: Palm Beach Post
Term Limits continues to be debated, even after an overwhelming public support with our County Commission and WPB Mayor by public vote.

Term limits have been placed on 15 state legislatures, eight of the ten largest cities in America adopted term limits for their city councils and/or mayor, and 37 states place term limits on their constitutional officers.

American politicians, special interests and lobbyists continue to combat term limits, as they know term limits force out career politicians who are more concerned with their own gain than the interests of the American people.

I want to keep the pressure on the movement to preserve West Palm Beach Term Limits. Charter review, sure… Term Limit modification – no thanks!
