Quoting from the article: "Governor Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio are now tied in the 2010 race for the Republican Senate nomination in Florida. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely GOP Primary voters finds Crist and Rubio each with 43% of the vote. Palm Beach County BCC approves Ethics Ordinances with vote 7/0

Update!!!!!!!!!!  History was made this morning when the Board of County Commissioners voted for the IG, Ethics Commission and Ethics ordinances as amended.  There were a few wrinkles when Commissioner Santamaria had an issue with the firing wording, Commissioner Aaronson had issues with treating non-profits/charities like everyone else and Commissioner Taylor had an issue with the IG’s ability to investigate – even without ’cause’.  So... [Read More...]

Great Progress on Ethics Reform

This morning, the Palm Beach County Commission gave preliminary approval to the ordinances that will create the Commission on Ethics and the Inspector General. The final vote is scheduled for 12/15. Over the last month, the ordinances had been revised somewhat, taking the County Commission out of the loop on hiring and re-appointing the Inspector General, but they were still able to fire the IG with a 5 of 7 vote.
